Tomato Tamoto, a new, fresh “build your own salad” concept, opens in Plano, Texas
The Plano location – located at The Shops at Willow Bend – is the first of many planned for North Texas
Tomato Tamoto, a new fresh, made-to-order salad bar concept, has opened at The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano, Texas. At the fast-casual restaurant, guests build their salads in virtually unlimited combinations from more than 50 freshly-cut ingredients, including various types of salad, vegetables, fruits, nuts and cheeses. Tomato Tomoto’s “Salad Chefs” then hand-toss the gourmet creation or roll it up and grill it as a wrap.
“We’re a fresh, healthy alternative to many of the fast-casual restaurants today, particularly within the mall setting. And by allowing our guests complete control over what they put into their salads, we also ensure their satisfaction on each visit,” said Thomas DuBois, CEO and founder of Tomato Tamoto. “We’re doing for salads what Chipotle and Subway has done for made-to-order burritos and sandwiches.” Each salad has a starting price of $7, which includes a choice of several crisp greens, an unlimited selection of veggies, fruits, nuts and cheeses, and tossed with one of the restaurant’s signature dressings. Guests can add chicken and seafood for a small additional charge, including chipotle-aoli or sundried tomato pesto chicken for $2 and grilled shrimp, baked salmon or real crab for $3. Salad wraps are also an option starting at $5, and homemade soups are offered daily for $3. Additionally, Otis Spunkmeyer specialty cookies baked daily are available starting at $1.
