PHILOMENA FOOD’S STUFFED ITALIAN BREADS NOW AVAILABLE AT ALL NORTH TEXAS WHOLE FOODS MARKET STORES
Frozen, bake-at-home breads filled with all-natural ingredients

DALLAS, August 19, 2008 - We might not all have an Italian grandmother to teach us how to bake delicious stuffed breads in our own kitchens, but thanks to Dallas-based Philomena Food Company, we don’t have to.  Philomena Food’s popular line of frozen, bake-at-home stuffed Italian breads is now available at all Whole Foods Market stores throughout North Texas, including Arlington, Dallas and Plano.

The handmade breads, which are stuffed with all-natural goodies ranging from roasted vegetables and garlic to fig, prosciutto and Gorgonzola cheese, are as delicious as they are easy to make at home.  Shoppers simply thaw and bake the frozen, pre-made breads for 20-25 minutes.  The frozen breads can be stored for up to four months.

“Growing up in a large Italian family gave me a deep sense of tradition and inspiration for creating wonderful homemade food.  I remember my grandmother carrying warm loaves of bread in her apron as we all waited patiently for that first bite,” said Philomena Aceto, founder of Philomena Food Company.  “Many of these recipes were passed down to me from my grandmother.  I hope that these breads fill kitchens everywhere with the same love, laughter and amazing aromas that I’ve enjoyed my entire life.”

The stuffed Italian breads are now available at Whole Foods Market stores throughout North Texas and are sold in two-packs for $7.49.  The bread comes stuffed in three flavor combinations:

·         Roasted Vegetable & Garlic/Pepperoni & Mozzarella Cheese:

o    Roasted Vegetable & Garlic – Oven-roasted zucchini, yellow squash, green peppers and roasted garlic, with fresh mozzarella.

o    Pepperoni & Mozzarella Cheese – Nitrate-free pepperoni, tangy tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella.

·         Artichoke, Sundried Tomato & Smoked Mozzarella Cheese/Sautéed Broccoli & Olive Tapanade:

o    Artichoke, Sundried Tomato & Smoked Mozzarella Cheese – Marinated artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil pesto and fresh mozzarella.

o    Sautéed Broccoli & Olive Tapanade – Sautéed broccoli, smoked provolone and Philomena Foods signature olive tapanade, made with a mixture of black and green olives with spicy red pepper.

·         Fig, Prosciutto & Gorgonzola Cheese/Spinach, Feta Cheese & Kalamata Olives:

o    Fig, Prosciutto & Gorgonzola Cheese – Dried organic figs, nitrate-free prosciutto, caramelized onions and Gorgonzola cheese.

o    Spinach, Feta Cheese & Kalamata Olives – Sautéed spinach, kalamata olives, caramelized onions and feta cheese.
