Local family-owned organic grocer, Cox Farms Market, to open North Oak Cliff/West Dallas location at Sylvan|Thirty

Duncanville-based Cox Farms Market to open at Sylvan and Fort Worth Avenues in Fall 2012; Grocer will be anchor tenant at Sylvan|Thirty mixed-use development

Dallas/Oak Cliff, March 9, 2011 – On the heels of Wal-Mart’s announcement that it’s building a new grocery store in North Oak Cliff, local family-owned organic grocer Cox Farms Market has announced that it will be opening in 2012 at Sylvan|Thirty, a highly anticipated North Oak Cliff mixed-use development currently under construction at the intersection of Sylvan and Fort Worth Avenues. Duncanville-based Cox Farms Market will be the anchor tenant at Sylvan|Thirty and will occupy the development’s 11,000-square foot market space. Sylvan|Thirty is joint project of developers Oaxaca Interests and Drexel Realty Partners.

Cox Farms Market is a third-generation, Texas family-owned grocer that specializes in farm fresh produce, natural, organic and whole foods, nutritional products and body care products. This will be Cox Farms Market’s second location in North Texas, joining its location on S. Main Street in Duncanville, which has been in business for 20 years.

“Sylvan|Thirty is all about community and highlighting the best of that our community has to offer. With its focus on farm fresh produce and natural food products, its local family heritage, diverse customer appeal  and its strong history of community involvement, Cox Farms Market is the perfect anchor for our project,” said Brent Jackson, president of Sylvan|Thirty developer Oaxaca Interests. “This is not your typical big-box retailer.”

The store is anticipated to open in Fall 2012.

“We’re excited to earn the same loyal customer base in North Oak Cliff, Kessler Park and West Dallas that we’ve enjoyed for two decades in Duncanville. We’re hopeful that our friendly staff – most hired directly from the surrounding area – and our dedication to organic and environmentally-friendly products, as well as local family heritage and our philosophy of giving back to our neighbors, will make us a successful addition to the North Oak Cliff community,” said Mark Cox, president of Cox Farms Market.
