Are you a fan of Harvey Specter and the show “Suits?” If so, you can pick up on a few public relations lessons while you watch since the hit show is also very heavily client-focussed and fast-paced. Here are a few lessons from PR Daily:

  1. Master the art of reading people. People are always sending out signals that you can pick up on and use to your advantage. If you can predict what others are going to do before they act on it, you’ll be successful in PR.
  2. Forget tradition, embrace unconventionality. PR leaders need to be adaptable, flexible and always open to new ways of doing things. This mindset will always keep you one step ahead.

10 PR Trends to Monitor

We may be more than half way through the year, but there are always new tips and tricks to learn in the world of public relations. PR News gives us “10 key PR trends to watch during the rest of 2017,” including the notion that spelling will count more than ever before and that social influencers will continue to remain important, but there will be added pressure to prove their worth.

Gadgets Make the PR World Go Round

We all use various tools to make our jobs easier. Whether it be for social media, content marketing, email blasts — you name it, there’s a tool. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Help a Reporter Out (HARO) – HARO will send out notifications highlighting opportunities to connect with journalists looking for an expert source. When you see a story that fits, send a pitch and wait for a response.
  • Google Alerts – Number one it’s free, and it sends you an alert whenever one of your keywords is mentioned on the internet. Plus, you can monitor for as many keywords as your heart desires.
