Shayna’s Place Cafe at Sylvan | Thirty is Now Hiring

August 29, 2018 – Shayna’s Place Cafe, a family-owned and operated cafe that provides employment opportunities for people with special needs, is now hiring for its upcoming location at Sylvan | Thirty. With an expected opening in early October, Shayna’s Place at Sylvan | Thirty owner Lou Olerio is now accepting applications for all available positions at www.shaynasplace.com/careers.

“Anyone who may be interested in joining our team is encouraged to apply. We welcome all who can bring a positive attitude every day to greet our customers with a friendly smile, making them feel at home,” said Olerio.

The concept, which was founded in Rhode Island and inspired by Olerio’s cousin Shayna who has Down Syndrome, was created as a place of employment for people both with and without special needs.

Shayna’s Place will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily. The breakfast menu consists of hearty toasts, Açaí bowls, egg sandwiches and bagels. Lunch and dinner will offer garden-fresh salads and a variety of sandwiches served on ciabatta bread, including a classic take on an Italian sandwich called Vinny’s Kitchen, which was voted “Best Grinder” by USA Today.

A wide assortment of beverages will be available throughout the day, including local Oak Cliff coffee, tea, lemonade, smoothies and fresh raw juices. Other beverages are welcome on a BYOB basis.

In addition to its in-house services, Shayna’s Place will also cater, extending its delicious fare to office parties, at home celebrations and everything in between.
